TeachBeyond aspires to create redemptive change through missional education. Around the world, education is viewed by all levels of society as the answer to global problems. We believe a holistic education that relates life and learning to God and his word equips students to be effective citizens and to be wise, not just productive. It also provides them with a framework for finding truly satisfying answers to personal and global problems.
TeachBeyond has divided its various educational services into four categories: school services, language services, professional services, and partnering services.
TeachBeyond's oldest and largest school project is Black Forest Academy, a premier boarding school located in Southwest Germany, which today provides a unique service to international Christian workers who serve in over 45 countries. While English is the language of instruction, the introductory primary classes are bilingual and taught in partnership with a local German school which shares BFA's values. The high school, which is accredited by three agencies, is the largest division in the 300 member student body. BFA has over 30 years of boarding school experience. Residence staff members are carefully selected for the crucial role of meeting the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of boarding students.

TeachBeyond is committed to helping local groups and agencies start and manage schools, particularly in areas where other forms of Christian witness are not permitted. Information about new and emerging schools is available upon request.
TeachBeyond has developed partnerships with schools in Europe, Africa, and Asia and is active in training and appointing staff to serve in these various locations.

TeachBeyond language services (known as LinGo) are currently focused on teaching English as a second language to children, teenagers and young adults. Typically TeachBeyond has provided these services in summer camp settings in Europe. More recently TeachBeyond has begun exploring venues other than camps, and countries outside Europe. Camps have been particularly effective in Germany where teenagers receive an introduction to Anglo-American culture and the Bible while learning English. All language services are provided with the understanding that the learning of English is part of a broader educational agenda which includes a spiritual and moral-ethical dimension.

TeachBeyond professional services are usually offered in a teacher conference or seminar format in countries where such services are not readily available. TeachBeyond provides seminars on topics such as spiritual formation, cross-cultural adaptation, and Biblical integration. TeachBeyond also offers seminars, retreats, and short term courses for adults on issues of interest to people from a variety of vocational backgrounds.
TeachBeyond has been involved in education for over fifty years. Partnerships with many other organizations have significantly expanded TeachBeyond’s influence and improved both the scope and depth of its educational services. Today TeachBeyond has formal agreements with twenty-two partners and unofficial agreements with a number of others. These agreements enable TeachBeyond to draw on resources it would not otherwise have and to serve more broadly emerging needs. TeachBeyond also supports and encourages collaborative partnerships in a variety of service areas unrelated to missional education. From church-based music concerts and outreach activities in Germany, to children’s camps in Brazil, TeachBeyond continues to partner with Janz associate organizations.
