God is moving in Eastern European English Camps!

In one location a six-day camp was held this summer that had 20 staff and 55 campers. There were local staff members as well as staff from the US. The staff from the US had a great impact on the campers’ mindsets as they faithfully acted as Jesus’ hands and feet while lovingly teaching English.

One camper in particular stood out to the staff as resistant from the beginning of the camp. As topics of faith came up each day this camper would push back with worldly and dark responses and she seemed like she’d be the least likely to ever accept the gospel message. As one staff member began to spend more time with this camper, she began to realize this opposition was only a wall that was hiding a hunger for God. The staff then began praying how they could share more with this camper, and they waited for a good time to do it.

The closing day of the camp came, and one of the leaders took time to boldly proclaim the gospel from the standpoint of God as a Father and of His love for us. As the staff and campers began to walk to the beach for last pictures, the staff noticed that this same camper that had been so resistant was crying and other campers were comforting her. Two of the leaders took her aside and asked, “What are you feeling, and what is happening right now?” The camper responded that she was completely overtaken by the love of the Father and it "just broke her." The staff again shared the gospel with her and asked if she would like to accept Jesus into her life. She said yes! The staff prayed with her and are happy to say that one more life has entered our Father’s Kingdom!

In that same camp there were two girls who came in conservative head scarves and the staff thought they might be more offended by conversations regarding Christ. The staff felt a strong pull to have more conversations with them all the same. As it turned out these girls were very open to conversation and often stayed longer than the rest at meals and other times to talk to the staff. The staff were amazed to see God’s strong heart pursuing these girls.

These are just two of a number of transformational and very personal stories that are coming out of some of the hardest to reach places. It’s exciting to see God’s love impact people’s hearts and eternal lives!

Pray for Eastern European English Camps

    • Pray for these three girls, that conversations and growth would continue.
    • Pray for more English speakers to serve in the camps for a week or two. See if you can serve at any upcoming English Camps.
    • Pray for passion, vision, and wisdom as plans are made for next year's camps in many places throughout the world.
